SPREADING

THE

JOY OF DANCE

Spreading the joy of danceā€¦ā€¦. through friendship, fun and achievement.

We dedicate ourselves to nurturing the whole students through their time at Delanoy Dancers, providing tools that will adapt into all parts of life serving them for their future.

We aim to inspire children and adults to be themselves and express through dance.  We teach the understanding that when determination and time is spent practicing, the joy of the outcome can be extraordinary!

If your child enjoys moving to music then maybe it is time to begin their dance journey. . .

Dazzlers

Dazzlers

Delanoy Dazzlers: Reception

More layers of technique are added, including posture, core, turn out and use of parallel alignment.  Covering all 3 genres allows children to work on stretched feet and legs in Ballet and Modern as well as relaxed knees and loose ankles in Tap.  Children are learning lots of new steps, exercises and routines; enhancing their memory for movement sequences, using expression to enhance performance and there are also opportunities to improvise and be creative.

Dynamics

Dynamics

In this combined class where children continue to develop their modern dance skills and aim to work towards their first ever ISTD* examination, Primary modern.  Children continue developing their tap dancing and ballet skills adding further technique through fun and engaging exercises.

Juniors

Our Delanoy Junior students continue to hone their dance technique, musicality, and expressive qualities as well as build their step vocabulary through the learning of ISTD classical ballet, tap and modern dance.  Students will be working towards Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) graded examinations in Primary classical ballet, grade 1 modern and Primary/grade 1 tap dance in which students can be invited to take examinations.

Ballet

Ballet

Ballet: Yr 4 plus

In our ballet classes we aim to develop correct technique, posture, strength and flexibility as well as an artistic quality and musicality through fun and engaging exercises.  Ballet is the core to all dance training to which discipline is also an important part, which we incorporate into all our classes.

We begin introducing some basic ballet technique alongside advancing motor skills with Delanoy Darlings, developing on the basics in Delanoy Dots and Dazzlers and then working towards Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) graded exams from Primary to advanced levels, in which students can be invited to take examinations.

Modern

Modern

Modern: Yr 4 plus
A truly enjoyable genre of dance that reflects on societies evolving dance art form. Bringing the technique from Ballet into play with strength, posture and flexibility there is a freedom of movement that the body can express and interpret through the music. The children get to explore use of dynamics, different styles of music such as lyrical, jazz, blues and learn to interpret this music with their bodies.

We incorporate ISTD primary syllabus into our Delanoy Dynamics class and from Grade 1 to advanced levels in separate Modern classes, in which children can be invited to take examinations.

Tap

Tap

Tap: Yr 4 plus

Tap dance is a wonderful way to develop rhythmic and musical understanding which is essential to all dance forms.  Tap classes are great fun and extremely rewarding, as the students feel a great sense of achievement once they can execute a tricky step after lots of practising.

We start right at the beginning in Delanoy Dots with an introduction to tap, building on the basics in Delanoy Dazzlers and then students may have the opportunity to be invited to take ISTD grade examinations from Primary to advanced levels.

It has been a dream of ours ever since we were little girls to run a dance school together and we are so excited it has come to fruition.

We have both studied at a full time dance college in London to prepare for a career in dance and the performing arts. We have both been lucky enough to travel the world performing, as well as gaining many years of teaching experience.

We are so happy to open our doors to anyone who wishes to enjoy the art of dance and the joy it brings.
